Goodbye 2009...Good riddance

Thursday, December 31, 2009

I'm convinced the New Years Eve Blue Moon is an omen that the Blues of 2009 are over and 2010 will be a time of healing.

May the best of 2009 be the worst of 2010
and may we find what we seek.

What do you want for yourself in 2010?

The winner has 24 hours to contact me with mailing info or another name will be drawn.

.....~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~ *~

It was so nice we're doing it twice! It's pretty hard to top
The Christmas Story for Holiday nostalgia. For those of us whose letters to Santa once included Lionel trains, Erector sets, Tiny Tears and Betsy Wetsy dolls this movie is a glimpse backwards into our childhoods. Some refer to those years as a "simpler time" and compared to our fast and furious, high-tech driven lives today, it really was an idyllic era.

..................
Remember....

Wringer Washing Machines and Oxydol?

cowboy suits?........................... snowsuit mummies?

...when a Red Ryder BB Gun cost a whopping $2.95?
.....

In celebration of those simpler times, The Christmas Story will again be the source for the CANINE QUESTION OF THE WEEK for our weekly Holiday drawing.

In the memorable playground scene, Ralphie's friends, Flick and Schwartz, argue whether or not a person's tongue would stick to a frozen flagpole. As the series of traditonal childhood dares progress, Schwartz breaches etiquette by skipping lesser dares and ultimately issues the "coup de grace of all dares," leaving Flick no choice but to accept the challenge.

QUESTION:

What was that "coup de grace of all dares"?
(hint: answers are always dog-related)

The prize for this week is: TRIPLE TREATS
Two Blue Collar Take Out Treats ($16.00 vlue)
and a Pillow Pack Dozen to go. ($2.50 value)

The lucky winner will receive one Chicken carton (36 treats) and one Peanut Butter carton (36 treats and a Chicken Treat Pillow Pack (12 treats).

If you're not the lucky winner for this week, you can still put these gifts under your favorite furry friend's tree. Just head over to my Etsy shop and place an order using PayPal.
Remember I ship USPS flat rate 3 day delivery- it's the cheapest & fastest way to get it there.

You'll shoot your eye out kid!

"Fra-gee-lay. That must be Italian!"

The Canine Question Of The Week is:
Who caused Ralphie and his family to have Christmas dinner at the Chop Suey Palace? (hint: looking for the name of the group)

The Blue Collar Treat gift of the week is:
Two Blue Collar Dog Treat Take Out cartons. The lucky winner will receive one Chicken carton and one Peanut Butter carton. Each contains 36 Little Bits so your BFF will have plenty of treats for the Holidays!
